Healthcare Crisis or Legislative Crisis?

If you've been following the rather shameful display that's been going on in the halls of Congress over healthcare reform — and how could you possibly avoid it, even if you wanted to — you will have learned several things that could keep you up at night, namely:

Many members of Congress have been bought and sold by the very interests they are now charged with regulating. The large donations given to Senators such as Libermann, and Bacus by insurance companies are a matter of public record, as well as, unfortunately, how far the Congressmen will bend over to support their benefactors.

Many of our elected officials care little for the needs of their constituients and even less for the truth. Bald faced lies were being tossed about Congress like frisbees on Spring Break.

Even the pretense of civility is dead in Congress.

If we seriously want to repair this country — rebuild the manufacturing sector, fix our infrastructure, and make our education system world class again, it looks like we're going to need a whole new crew in Washington to do the job.
